Foodbank

Our food bank is open weekdays from 11am to 2pm, and there’s no appointment needed—just drop in.

We’re committed to treating everyone who uses our food bank with respect, dignity, and compassion. We provide short-term emergency food support for individuals and families who need a helping hand. If getting to us is difficult, please let us know—we may be able to help with transport in special situations.

Each food parcel includes three days’ worth of meals, along with other essential items. The food we provide comes from many generous sources, including supermarket donation bins, KiwiHarvest, conference contributions, and members of the public. Donations dropped off at our shops, Young Vinnies in schools, and contribution baskets in Catholic parishes.

If you’re able to support our food bank, we’d be very grateful. Food donations can be dropped off at our central Dunedin shop at 452 George Street. Financial contributions can be made to St Vincent de Paul Dunedin, account number 03-0883-0186960-00.

Items we’re often running low on include rice, pasta, cereal, sugar, school lunch items, tea, coffee, biscuits, spreads, washing powder, dishwashing liquid, feminine hygiene products and toiletries.

Thank you for helping us support our community 💙
